The history of the Arnold & Son brand is similar to other old watch brands in England. In 1764, at the age of 28, John Arnold opened a workshop in London, where he assembled the first miniature clock with a minute-by-minute indication. This minute repeater, presented by him to king George III, allowed the young manufacturer to enter the circle of pioneers of the time, who mastered the production of chronometers, which were used on ships. The most famous navigators took chronographs from Arnold & Son with them on their expeditions. Together with their contemporary Abraham-Louis Breguet, they first installed a tourbillon in the chronometer. The success of the company in the next ten years is closely linked to the glory of the British Navy and navigation. The dynasty was discontinued in the 19th century, and the brand name was also changed. The revival of Arnold & sun occurred in the late 20th century, when it was purchased by British Masters. Now the company is still famous for its chronometers.
